About the Northeast Pre-Academy League

The Northeast Pre-Academy League with U-12 through U-15 boys’ divisions and a U11 division commencing in the 2012-13 season, is geared towards preparing teams for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy at the U-16 and U-18 age groups.  The league is comprised of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs in the Northeast, running from Washington, D.C. to New Hampshire.

The Northeast Pre-Academy League is part of U.S. Club Soccers National Premier Leagues, which are independently-operated leagues, united under a similar technical and national competition framework.

Some of these independent leagues – such as the Northeast Pre-Academy League, Southeast Pre-Academy League and Texas Pre-Academy League – are comprised solely of U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs to extend the principles and technical framework of USSDA in younger age groups.

Other independent NPLs are comprised of  both U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs and other premier clubs – such as the Midwest Developmental League. Finally, other NPLs consist of premier clubs outside of the USSDA.
